Of course, there are the few who have a big ego or a low self-esteem (the manifestation is the same) who are going to try to antagonize whoever crosses their paths, but overall people feel comfortable talking to you, or even confiding in you because you are approachable to them.    Through many encounters, most of them casual, I could see, discern and feel how people care about their jobs and working environment. I often hear "I just want to do my job and go home but..." and the "but" is followed by unanswered questions on why and how things are done or not meeting certain standards. Until now, decisions on eligibility for voluntary benefits has been the employer's prerogative. Health benefits were by essence not a mandated benefit. The landscape of healthcare regulations has dramatically changed with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Nothing seems to be really firmly set yet. One thing appears to be certain: the cost is skyrocketing at all levels . By now, large employers have already rolled out their programs and made necessary addition to their benefits staff. By evidence this will be a relief to small employers and procastinators. But by now, most businesses have taken steps to either "upgrade" or "downgrade" concerned positions. Minds have also somehow adjusted to the idea. This is therefore a wait and see situation for both employers and employees.
