Of course, there are the few who have a big ego or a low self-esteem (the manifestation is the same) who are going to try to antagonize whoever crosses their paths, but overall people feel comfortable talking to you, or even confiding in you because you are approachable to them.    Through many encounters, most of them casual, I could see, discern and feel how people care about their jobs and working environment. More than ever HR has to embrace its evolving approach to its core responsibility: HR is about "the whole person". T he pandemic has brought to the surface so many elements that neither HR nor the people had thought about, although always existing. To me, the two major concerns about mental wellness are depression and domestic violence. I have to admit that I never seriously thought about it until I lost sleep myself and couldn't understand why I was so inexplicably restless and unfocused. It is not one's favorite topic by choice, but it is a sad reality that we have to face as a society, a workplace, and a community of HR. HR and Violence? Can HR Do it All?  S ome numbers are chilling according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics  (BLS):  the number one cause of workplace death has been violence over the last 15 years; and this being more predominant in the retail industry.
