Meetings, formal or informal, such as going to seminars or crossing each other in hallways and elevators give us a glimpse of faces of HR. Simply HR or simply human? Ready for a smart assessment?

Holiday Seasons are busy: we have to evaluate our year, our team, our business, our metrics, in sum ourselves. How did we score for 2014?

Happy Season!

We would like it to be in the face of the world, and for ourselves.

Stressful period? Nor only for accountants and CFOs, but also for HR people. We face a different set of challenges during the holidays: employees feel the pressure of the holiday spirit, and we face the implications of the season.

So, yes, you have been busy lately, and stressed out; yet colleagues and employees still expect you to be Simply HR. Simply HR? What does it mean? How about consistency? How about objectivity? How about sound interpretation and application of guidelines? To employees, it will mean FAIRNESS. All welcome and appreciate "fairness."

Simply HR could also Imply "Simply You, Human"!


Like anybody else - non-HR people -, we have  our good and bad days. So, did we have a "closed" face at that meeting? Did  we have a frown in the hallway and did not respond to a greeting? Did we show a long face to that candidate and gave a bad impression of our company? Or do we have our uplifting cheerful smile? Do we give chills to people or fuzzy feelings? What is our brand? What image do we project? Did you ever wonder why charismatic people are successful in many ways? Regardless of the days of the week and the seasons of the year, we are simply us: simply human. We have our good and bad days. I came across this HR story, see for yourself where you stand.

Unfortunately, it is all about perceptions and "talks" about you. People can get the wrong image of you: it happens. How can you correct this? Simply! You will be amazed at the results.

Until now, decisions on eligibility for voluntary benefits has been the employer's prerogative. Health benefits were by essence not a mandated benefit. The landscape of healthcare regulations has dramatically changed with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Nothing seems to be really firmly set yet.
